Introduction
This position is based at our Head Office in Woodmead, Johannesburg, and will require periodic national and international travel to operations, depending on project needs.
Description
Minopex is seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Engineer to join our Business Improvement and Technical (BIT) team. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving operational excellence, deploying innovative products to operations, supporting special projects, and providing technical expertise across our operations
Duties & Responsibilities:
• Provide expert process engineering support to operations to ensure optimal plant performance.
• Assist with commissioning support, problem-solving interventions, and special projects on a short-term basis
• Develop and implement process optimisation strategies that drive efficiency and cost effectiveness.
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams to solve complex operational challenges.
• Collaborate across diverse teams to successfully develop and deploy innovative products in operational environments.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
• Prepare technical reports, proposals, and presentations for both internal and client stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and environmental standards in all operations activities.
• Provide Project Management Support to projects and operations
Qualification Requirements:
• Matric (Grade 12) or an equivalent qualification registered at NQF Level 4, including relevant NATED qualifications such as the N3 Certificate.
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical/Metallurgical Engineering (or equivalent).
• Professional registration (Pr.Eng) with ECSA will be an advantage
Experience and Skills Requirements
• Minimum of 8–10 years’ experience in mineral processing, plant operations, or process optimisation.
• Project Management experience will be an advantage.
• Proven track record in leading technical projects and driving operational improvements.
• Strong knowledge of process modelling, plant troubleshooting, and metallurgical accounting.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
